LAWRENCE, Kan. (WIBW) — A popular fast-food chain may soon be making its first foray outside of the Kansas City-area and deeper into the Sunflower State.
A brand-new Jack-in-the-Box is expected to be opening in Lawrence, according to LJWorld's Chad Lawhorn. He reports that plans were filed that showed the national chain would be located along 23rd Street and replace the Long John Silver's/A&W location.
The Jack-in-the-Box website shows seven locations in the Kansas City-metro area, with the western most one being at the Legends Outlet mall.
While primarily known for their hamburgers, the restaurants are also famous for serving the type of fare you don't normally see at a burger joint, things like tacos and egg rolls. There are about 2,200 franchise locations nationwide, operating primarily on the West Coast and in large urban areas.
