JCPD: Student takes Airsoft gun to Junction City school

JUNCTION CITY, Kan. (WIBW) -- A Junction City Middle School student was taken into custody Monday after allegedly bringing an Airsoft to school.

A USD 475 school official told 13 NEWS staff members were alerted that a student had brought the Airsoft pistol and confiscated it. The student, whose name was not released, has been taken into custody, the Junction City Police Dept. said.

Both the district and police emphasized the student made no threat to the school, students, or staff. USD 475 said there was no danger to the students and the situation did not cause a lock down.

JCPD said their investigation into the matter is ongoing.
