TOPEKA (WIBW)-- The Junction City commission has decided not to lift a ban on pit bull dogs in the city.

The Junction City Post reports, the decision came at Tuesday's meeting.

The breed specific ban was adopted by the city nearly 10 years-ago.

During a commission meeting last month, several residents came forward to defend pit bulls and make a case for lifting the ban.

The JC Post reports supporters of lifting of the ban are now working to get the issue on the November 7th election ballot.
