HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KWCH) -- A veteran from Hutchinson has been reunited with his service dog, Mattis.
Wesley Marrs picked up the black German Shepherd on Monday from animal control.
Marrs was at a home near 5th Avenue and N. Elm St., in Hutchinson, Sunday when something spooked Mattis. According to a Facebook post from Midwest Battle Buddies, the dog wasn't wearing his vest when he ran off.
"For anyone who doesn't know, these dogs are the life line for these veterans," the agency said in the post.
Mattis had been trained for Wesley by Battle Buddies service Dogs.
