TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- More than 700,000 cases of Hostess snack cases and donuts are being recalled because of possible contamination.

Hostess officials told 13 NEWS that the problem was possible residue contamination by peanut residue in flour from Grain Craft , one of their suppliers.

Hostess has only received notification of only two allergic reactions and the recall only impacts specific items.

The recall also impacts Cinnabon Stix, Safeway 8” Single Layer Red Velvet Cake, ACME 12” Decorated Chip Cookies, Jewel 12” Decorated Chocolate Chip Cookies and Chick-fil-A Chocolate Chunk Cookies.

Information on the products and recall can be found on the FDA website or by clicking here.

Officials with Hostess Brands, LLC said those who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume products containing peanut allergens, the amount of peanut exposure from use of the flours and affected products is considered to be low and not expected to cause adverse health effects in the vast majority of peanut allergic consumers.

A list of all potentially contaminated products can be found in the PDF named Peanut contamination list provided to the right.

Company officials said anyone who has purchased an affected product and who has a sensitivity or allergy to peanuts is encouraged to discard it or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
