TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) — Despite needing to cancel a performance, Cirque du Soleil brought in more than a half-million dollars at the box office during its recent visit to the Kansas Expocentre.
General Manager Kellen Seitz told county commissioners Monday morning that over 10,000 tickets were sold between the five shows. He described the event as an "overwhelming success."
The shows lasted from January 24 to January 28. One of them though was canceled because of what a representative described as a "death close to the crew."
Seitz also thanked the local media for helping spread the word about the shows.
