TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) — Flags in Kansas will fly at half-staff Thursday.
On Wednesday, Gov. Sam Brownback ordered flags lowered from sunrise to sunset on December 7 in honor of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
The day commemorates the attack by on a U.S. naval base on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, by the Imperial Japanese Navy and honors the 2,000 American sailors, soldiers, and Marines who lost their lives in the battle.
The attack marked America's entrance into WWII.
