TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Scammers can come in all shapes and sizes, some even pose like Saint Nick!

The Better Business Bureau has these tips for staying safe when it comes to online Santa scams.

- Never click on a link or email advertising a letter from Santa for children. Scammers use this to get your personal information and money.

- Avoid websites that include your child's name on an official "nice list." They are after your credit card information and address.

- Do not click on ads, emails or texts saying you have a free gift card, it is used to get your personal information and steal your identity.

- Next year consider using the Santa letter service provided by the United States Postal Service.
