2 Junction City robberies reported in the same area about the same time

JUNCTION CITY, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Junction City Police Dept. is investigating a pair of robberies that happened in the same place at nearly the same time.

According to JCPD, one of the victims told investigators he was held up by two black men in the alley behind El Tapatio restaurant. The victim said one of them had a gun and demanded money. After handing over his cell phone, the victim then ran several blocks back to his home.

At about the same time, another person called 911 claiming they were robbed in the same area, the 300 block of West 6th Street, by two black men, one of whom had a gun. They demanded money and took the victim’s phone and money, police said. The suspects then reportedly took off, running west through the alley.

Investigators say both suspects were wearing dark clothing. One of them was described as standing 6’ tall with light skin, while the other man was 5’9” with darker skin.
