FORT SCOTT, Kan. (WIBW) -- A 15-year-old was killed in a three-vehicle, head-on crash Wednesday morning in Bourbon Co., according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Investigators say Hunter Dean Kovacic was heading north on U.S. 69, about five miles south of Fort Scott, around 9:40 a.m. when his 1988 Ford Ranger crossed into oncoming traffic.

The Stark, Kansas, teen's pickup reportedly sideswiped a northbound 2008 Ford F350, driven by Anthony Alexander, of Parkville, before colliding head-on with a tractor-trailer.

Kovacic was pronounced dead at the scene, KHP said.

The driver of the semi, Billy Rabbit, was injured in the wreck. The 40-year-old Pryor, Oklahoma, man was taken to a Fort Scott hospital for treatment, the agency added.

Alexander, 57, was not hurt.
