(WNDU) -- About 104,000 Instant Pot 8-in-1 multicookers are being recalled due to a fire hazard.
The recall is for Gem 65 multicookers from the following batchcodes: 1728, 1730, 1731, 1734 or 1746. You can find the batchcode on the rating label underneath the multicooker.
Double Insight, the distributor and designer of Instant Pot, has received more than 100 reports of overheating, with five resulting in minor property damage.
No injuries have been reported.
The multicookers were sold exclusively at Walmart from August 2017 through January 2018 for about $80.
If you have one of these multicookers, stop using it and return it to Walmart for a full refund. You can also contact the manufacturer to receive a free replacement.
The affected Gem 65 8-in-1 Multicooker is not a pressure cooker.
