Police: Robbery victim pistol-whipped near Expocentre

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) — One person was reportedly pistol-whipped during an armed robbery near the Kansas Expocentre late Thursday afternoon.

Topeka police and medical teams responded around 4:40 p.m. to the 1800 block of SW Western Ave., authorities said.

Officers say a man reported being hit with a weapon and robbed around 4:40 p.m. Thursday. He had to be taken to the hospital with head injuries.

Investigators say three men were involved in the robbery, however they did not release a description.

Thursday was the final day of the Topeka Farm Show. It closed at 4 p.m.
