ELLSWORTH, Kan. (KWCH) -- A woman was killed and six others injured in a crash involving a semi in Ellsworth County.
The crash happened Saturday around 3:15 p.m. on K156 just north of Ellsworth.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says a semi was headed westbound when the driver braked to avoid striking a farm implement which was stopped westbound on K156 at Ave I waiting to make a left turn. The semi jackknifed into the eastbound lanes and struck a SUV.
Deputies say the SUV rolled before stopping at the east ditch.
The driver, Christina Sanchez, 36, of Great Bend was transported to a local hospital where she later died. Four children inside the SUV were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The driver and a passenger in the semi were also hospitalized.
