Wildcat of the Week - Mitchell Dixon

TOPEKA, Kan. (THE DRIVE) The men's basketball still has not announced anything about the status of Coach Weber, so for now it seems like he will be sticking around for a sixth season. Unless when they find a permanent Athletics Director, if said person makes a different call.

The women's team took on Stanford at home but the Cardinal's had no problem dealing with the Wildcats or their home crowd, which spent much of the game sitting in silence. Stanford roared to a 39-21 halftime lead and never looked back in advancing to face No. 3 seed Texas on Friday night in Lexington, Kentucky.

Kindred Wesemann had 11 points and Breanna Lewis was held to nine in their final game for the Wildcats (23-11), who have not advanced past the NCAA Tournament's opening weekend since 2002.

Neither senior star could get on track after combining for 39 in the opening round.

Mitchell Dixon, a junior and the track and field team, set a new school record in the hammer throw, throwing 210 feet and 4 inches. This was his first K-State meet and Dixon obviously made an impression.
