TOPEKA, Kan. (THE DRIVE) Kansas lost to West Virginia 54-36 on Saturday. While the offense had some decent numbers this week, the defense struggled once again.

Peyton Bender threw for 197 yards and one touchdown through the air, but he also threw two picks. Running back Khalil Herbert exploded for 291 rushing yards and two touchdowns, including one 67 yard TD. All year the offense has been able to put up a good score and stay close to their opponent, but the defense gives up to many yards and points to pull out another win. KU still only has one win for the season and has a bye week this weekend.

Kansas State had a bye week and will take on Baylor this upcoming weekend. Baylor who had been struggling the start of the season held their ground against Oklahoma and had a chance to win after recovering an onside kick, to then fumble it away with a minute left.

Former K-State basketball players Michael Beasley and Jacob Pullen both signed with NBA teams recently. Beasley who has been apart of the Miami Heat signed with the New York Knicks and Jacob Pullen who has been playing basketball in Europe signed with the Philadelphia 76er's.
