TOPEKA, Kan. (THE DRIVE) Malik Newman scored seven of his game-high 24 points in the closing minutes, Baylor turned the ball over on the final inbounds play and Kansas rallied to beat the Bears 70-67 on Saturday night.

Graham finished with 15 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. Udoka Azubuike had 14 points and seven boards, but he was just 4 of 11 from the foul line and missed two crucial ones late.

Baylor was up 67-61 with two minutes to go but could not hold the lead allowing KU to take the lead of 68-67 with a minute left.

The Jayhawks now sit alone at the top of the leader board for the Big 12. Kansas faces Oklahoma on Tuesday night.

Kansas freshman Billy Preston signed with a pro team in Bosnia on Friday, ending any chance the five-star prospect will play for the Jayhawks. Preston had been held out all season while the school looked into the finances of the car he was driving during a November accident.

Kansas State was able to pull out two big wins against ranked teams this week. K-State was able to successfully shut top Trae Young and beat Oklahoma 87-69. Barry Brown scored 24 points and Dean Wade added 21.

Young was held to 20 points on 8-of-21 shooting, his fewest since scoring 15 in his college debut. He also was 2 of 10 from the 3-point line and committed 12 turnovers against six assists.

Kansas State also beat ranked opponent TCU 73-68. Sophomore Makol Mawien added a career-high 18 points on 8 of 11 shooting. He had totaled just 13 points in Big 12 play this season for the Wildcats.

TCU coach Jamie Dixon was called for a technical foul later in the first half, then drew another tech in the second half and was ejected.

With back to back wins against ranked opponents, K-State looks to start climbing higher in the rankings and with a couple of upsets in the Big 12, Kansas State isn't too far from the top teams.

K-State plays Baylor on Monday.
