The Drive ep. 17, December 17, 2017

TOPEKA, Kan. (THE DRIVE) Svi Mykhailiuk hit a 3-pointer from the corner with 23.2 seconds left, and No. 13 Kansas held on to beat Nebraska 73-72. Anton Gill missed a 3-pointer and James Palmer Jr. had his shot blocked by Udoka Azubuike on the Cornhuskers' last possession.

Azubuike had a career-high 26 points and 10 rebounds for the Jayhawks. Devonte Graham added 18 points and Mykhailiuk had 14.

Kansas wants to work out all the kinks before Big 12 play starts against Texas on the 29th. They were able to end their losing streak, but barely won by 1 point against an unranked opponent. To win another Big 12 title in a row, the Jayhawks might need to step up their game with all the competition in the Big 12 this year. Oklahoma and West Virginia are some stand out teams so far this season.

Oklahoma upset No. 3 Wichita State winning 91-83. Freshman guard Trae Young had 29 points and is arguably one of the top Big 12 players this year and currently the Nation's leading scorer.

The Wildcats were able to adjust from their loss against Tulsa and get a win against Southeast Missouri, winning 89-71. There was a lot more scoring inside the paint and less relaying on points from outside the arc.

Sneed was on fire with a handful of alley-oops and dunks, shooting 9 of 10 from the field and made four 3-pointers for a total of 23 points while Dean Wade added 19 points for the Wildcats.

Kansas State has their final non-conference road game against Washington State before traveling to Iowa State on Dec. 29 for the start of conference play.
