The Drive ep. 16, December 10, 2017

TOPEKA, Kan. (THE DRIVE) Ranked No. 2 Kansas was upset by No. 16 Arizona State 95-85. KU started with a 15-2 lead but by halftime only had a three point lead. Tra Hodler for Arizona State had 29 points and help outscore the Jayhawks in the second half. Lagerald Vick had the most points for KU at 25 points.

This was the first time Kansas had lost consecutive games since December of 2013. Conference play starts in just three more games for the Jayhawks.

This all happened after already being upset to unranked Washington. Vick had a career high game of 28 points but had very limited help, especially behind the 3-point arc. KU was 5-20 for 3-pointers, with Mykhailiuk 3 for 12 himself before fouling out. Graham who had 35 point games was also limited in his shooting this game.

With two losses, Kansas will fall from their No. 2 ranking.

Kansas State didn't have much better luck, losing to Tulsa 61-54. The Wildcats had a lot of missed opportunities including missing all nine free throw attempts in the last five minutes, and going 4 for 31 behind the 3-point arc.

Kansas State did lead going into half, but with many unsuccessful plays, the Wildcats lost the game to Tulsa. K-State was on a 23 non-conference home winning streak, but this loss ends that streak. They were in Wichita, 2 hours from Manhattan's campus.

Kansas State will have the whole week off and prepares for South Missouri State on Saturday.
