TOPEKA, Kan. (THE DRIVE) K-State was able to pull out the win over KU, but the Jayhawks were able to keep up scoring for the first time in 3 games and keeping it close the whole game.

K-State had yet another quarterback go out with Delton being treated with a possible concussion, bringing in Freshman Skylar Thompson to finish off the game. Alex Barnes ran for 128 yards and two touchdowns, and D.J. Reed returned a kickoff 99 yards for another score. K-State was able to get great field position thanks to special teams. Reed had two great returns for over 50 yards each, and every other kick was short so it wouldn't reach Reed.

Even though Kansas lost, they covered a lot of field. Stanley threw for 418 yards with a touchdown and a pick, while Sims had nine catches for 233 yards. KU scored first and had more yards of offense in the first quarter than the last two games combined. KU also put up 20 points after being shutout the last two games.

KU was able to show improvement and with Baylor coming up, they might just be able to pick up their first conference win.

K-State faces Texas Tech and really needs this win to have any chance of a bowl game appearance.

In other Big XII news, Iowa State beat top 5 team TCU and becomes the only school to beat two top 5 teams this season. They have come to play and now make four different schools hold a 4-1 record in the conference.
