I am a Kansas kid at heart.
I was born in Cali, Colombia, but moved to Kansas when I was just one year old. That being said, Kansas is my home. I am excited to be starting my professional career here in the capitol of my home state!
My love for journalism started at Shawnee Mission West High School in Overland Park, KS when my Video Production instructor gave me a camera and an assignment. From that moment forward, I was hooked and knew this was something I wanted to do. I love meeting new people and telling their stories. Everyone has a story.
I continued down the journalism path at Kansas State University (EMAW!) and completed my Bachelor’s in Journalism and Mass Communications in May of 2017. During my Wildcat years I was part of a team that won 1st place in the Kansas Association of Broadcasters Complete Taped Newscast category. I also worked as a game day crew member for K-STATEHD.TV where I was able to spend my time sideline at most all KSU sporting events.
In my free time, you can find me doing almost anything sports related, whether that is video games, shooting hoops, watching and/or attending games. My favorite sport is soccer! My father and I have watched games together since I can remember. Being from the Kansas City area I am also a huge Chiefs, Royals and SKC fan. I am also a huge music fan and will give any genre of music a try, so go ahead and send me some of your favorite recommendations!
I am fluent in Spanish! I have a very tight knit extended family, and having them just a few miles down I-70 is a very comforting feeling. We love our culture and spending time together.
