MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- Wildcat fans who couldn’t make it out to Arizona for the Fiesta Bowl were cheering on their team from their home base in the Little Apple Thursday night.
Fans filled local hot spots, including those in Aggieville like Kite’s and Tubby’s, making a fiesta of their own as they joined together to celebrate the final game of their team’s successful season.
A watch party was also head at the Student Union on K-State’s campus where students and fans gathered to see the much anticipated bowl game.
“The Cats are just being awesome, winning as much as they can. They only lost one and it’s been amazing for me,” said Cameron Augustine, a young K-State fan.
“It’s been awesome, going out to the Cats games all season and tailgating, taking on everybody, just doing what we do best,” added Jake Bollin, K-State student.
Many of the fans we caught up with wished they could be among the estimated 40,000 fans who traveled to Glendale but they were still proud to support the team here at home.
