WAMEGO, Kan. -- For three consecutive years in a row, Wamego City Hospital has been recognized as one of the top 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare for 2012 by Modern Healthcare Magazine, the industry's leading source of healthcare business and policy news for healthcare professionals. Last year, Wamego City Hospital was ranked #11 out of the top 100 ranking.
According to ModernHealthcare.com, "The recognition program, now in its fifth year, honors workplaces in healthcare that enable employees to perform at their optimum level to provide patients and customers with the best possible care, products and services. The program is co-sponsored by the Studer Group." Winning employment providers must rank high in the categories of employee engagement and satisfaction as well as in the areas of both monetary and wellness-based incentive programs.
"For three consecutive years, we have been truly honored to have been included in this prestigious ranking," Shannan Flach, CEO of Wamego City Hospital, shared. "At Wamego City Hospital, we have worked hard to create an environment where employees feel valued, patients feel welcomed and the regional community feels proud to call us their healthcare home."
This month, Wamego City Hospital was also recognized as Health Care Organization of the Month, by the Studer Group, for offering multiple healthcare services, while sustaining excellent patient care. Since 1915, Wamego City Hospital has been dedicated to both physician and patient services, and today almost 100 years later, Wamego City Hospital still has the same goal. Just one of the many reasons this small-town hospital has reached the heights of local, regional and national success within the professional healthcare arena.
"When patients share such positive feedback about our 'excellent service, excellent care, and excellent staff' we are reminded that valuing our employees results in superb patient experiences for the community and beyond," Flach shared. "It allows us to lead the industry by example."
Modern Healthcare will reveal the ranked order of the 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare for 2012 at an awards gala honoring the recipients on Oct. 9 in Nashville, as well as in a special supplement to be published on Oct. 15.
