WAMEGO, Kan. (WIBW) -- Thousands turned out in Wamego Saturday to celebrate spring during the popular Tulip Festival.
The annual festival is in its 26th year and is expected to attract around 15,000 people this weekend.
Craft vendors and a wide array of specialty foods, as well as other family-friendly activities drew big crowds to the Wamego City Park.
"We have over 150 craft booths. We’ve got amazing things for the children. There’s an inflatable area. Our children’s train is running now for the first time in the last few years so that’s something fun to do. There’s a wonderful petting zoo and pony rides. We’ve got some fantastic artists playing in the entertainment stage so just come down to the festival," said Mary Lyn Barnett, Executive Director of the Wamego Chamber of Commerce/Mainstreet.
The 2013 Tulip Festival continues Sunday, April 14th from 10 AM- 4 PM.
Fort Riley's 1st Infantry Division Band is set to take the stage to perform Sunday from 1-3 PM.
WIBW is a proud sponsor of the festival.
