TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -Two northeast Kansas lakes are now under a health advisory.
The Department of Health and Environment has added blue-green algae warnings for Central Park Lake in Shawnee County... and Antioch Park Lake in Johnson County.
KDHE says a warning means high levels of toxic blue-green algae have been detected and that means water conditions are unsafe.
Don't drink or make contact with the water and if lake water contacts skin or a pet's fur, wash with clean water as soon as possible.
Updated: 06/05/2013 - Riley County’s school district is asking citizens to consider a $12.3 million bond issue to make safety improvements to local schools.
