TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) The Topeka High School Marine Corps JROTC program gathered Saturday afternoon to honor a graduate who has just returned from Afghanistan, with an award many don't live to see.
Lance Corporal Brandon Weese was wounded in his right hand.
Weese joined the ranks a year and a half ago after graduating from Topeka High School....after 4 weeks of serving in Afghanistan he's back to get pinned with the purple heart.
Lance Corporal Weese is the 4th Topeka High School JROTC graduate to receive the purple heart award.
