TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The City of Topeka wants residents to help them decide whether a half-cent sales tax will be extended. A town hall meeting is planned for Monday, Nov. 4, 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. It will be held in the Holliday Conference Room, 620 SE Madison, Topeka.

Both city and county leaders will provide the public with information and a history of the tax. Leaders will also offer a list of potential future projects that the public can help prioritize.

Voters approved the half-cent sales tax in 2004. It is set to expire at the end of 2016.

A recap of the meeting will be presented to the governing body during work session on November 12.
