TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -Students at Washburn Rural saw the fruits of their labor pay off Thursday morning.
Washburn Rural High School launched a building construction program this past year and constructed a home for Habitats For Humanity. The home was built at the school in two sections and the final pieces were laid on the foundation of the building site by trailers and a crane
Volunteer workers were thrilled to be a part of the cause.
Kyle Schremmer said, " I like doing it, it makes me feel better than doing somebody else's house. I feel like I'm doing something good for a community and it feels good."
The homes are constructed and given to families in need within the community.
