TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Rotary Club of downtown Topeka welcomed Rotary International president Ron Burton to the Capitol City Thursday.

Burton in an Oklahoma native. He represents 1.2 million Rotarians who make up 34,000 clubs world wide.

This year's theme for Rotary is "Get up out of your seat and do something!" Burton believes carrying out that theme and being an engaged Rotarian changes not only the members' lives, but the lives in their community.

Burton and Washburn University president Dr. Jerry Farley were college classmates.
