TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) Topeka police are investigating what they're calling a suspicious death of woman who was found unresponsive Thursday morning to 712 S.W. 16th Street.

Neighbors were taken aback to learn of the woman's death, but based on the past behavior from their neighbors, they said they weren't surprised to see Police investigating the home.

They also say the married couple had a history of domestic violence, drug use and unusual behavior.

"Upon arrival officers discovered an unresponsive female who was later pronounced dead. She was 32 years of age, the investigation is still early on and we are still trying to sort out all the details," said Public Information Officer Jerry Stanley

Officers declared the home un-livable and in violation to a number of housing and health hazard codes.

The woman has been identified as 32 year old April Wakabushka-Corbridge. The husband was taken to the hospital for medical attention and two other adults who were at the residence were taken to the police station for questioning and released.

The couple had three young children who are now in police protective custody.
