MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Riley County Police Department needs your help locating a Manhattan teen who has been missing for a month.
Officials are seeking assistance from the public in locating 15-year-old Cleotilde Lucero Soto-Garcia. Detectives say the girl has vanished and they have no leads on where she may be.
Cleotilde is a Hispanic female around 5 feet 4 inches tall and 120 pounds.
She has long brown or black hair to the bottom of her shoulder blades and brown eyes.
Police say Soto-Garcia is a runaway from the Northwest portion of Manhattan. She often goes by several variations of her name, including Lucero Garcia or Lucy Garcia. She has ties to the Houston area, a police bulletin said, since her family recently moved to Kansas from Texas.
She was last seen on August 30th and last known to be at her family's home. She attended Manhattan High West Campus.
Detectives say Soto-Garcia ran away once before in the past but came back home after two days. They describe her as a "homebody" who was responsible for taking care of her siblings. They believe she was unhappy with something that happened at home and she left without a trace. She did not have a cell phone but she have a personal computer. Police say there is no indication that she was lured away by someone online since she has few friends on social media sites. The fact that she is young and has been missing for weeks led investigators to classify her as an "endangered runaway."
If you have any information on this missing teen's whereabouts, contact Riley County Police at 785-537-2112. Detective Rich Lewis is handling the case and can be reached at Ext. 3050.
