TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The new leader of Visit Topeka has arrived in the Capital City.
Terry Cook was formally introduced Friday as the organization's new President and CEO. Cook previously worked in Harrison, Arkansas as executive director of the city's Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Cook says he was attracted to the Topeka area through its great schools and family-friendly atmosphere.
He succeeds Olivia Simmons, who is suing the group over her termination. Asked about the situation Friday, Cook said he does not know much about and is focusing on his duties to move the organization forward.
Cook says he has a knack for finding new attractions and promoting markets for tourism.
