FROM NOTO -- Officials of the NOTO Arts District announce today the acquisition of property at 935 North Kansas Avenue for the District made possible by anonymous donors.
“We are thrilled with the acquisition of the former Post Office building on North Kansas Avenue. We are incredibly grateful to our donors for their vision in saving the building for the NOTO Arts District. The beauty of the building and the generous space combined with the historic value provides opportunities for a variety of significant programming for the community.
"It is our intention to spend the summer studying the most appropriate usage of the building. On behalf of the NOTO Board of Directors, we express our deep and sincere appreciation to the donors,” said Anita Wolgast and John Hunter, co-chairs of the NOTO Arts District project.
A grand opening is planned for the fall of 2012, where the public will be invited to tour the building and participate in the programming. Because real estate transactions become public knowledge, the Board chose to make a short announcement at this time. In-depth information regarding the building, the donors and the actual plans for the building with be forthcoming with the grand opening press release.
