MILFORD, Kan. -- Memorial Day Weekend is bringing big crowds to Milford Lake.

A survey of Milford Lake public and private camping sites on May 25 found little space available for the Memorial Day weekend.

Some full hook-up RV sites and primitive camping sites were still available at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) School Creek Camping Area.

Milford State Park reported having a few primitive camping sites still available, with all cabins and RV hook-up sites taken.

No RV hook-up sites were available at the (USACE) West Rolling Hills, Farnum Creek or Curtis Creek camping area.

Acorns Resort has a 100% occupancy for cabins and RV hook-up sites, though a few primitive sites are still available.

Thunderbird Marina reported 100% for cabins and RV hook-up sites, though is still accepting primitive campers.

Flagstop Resort stated they had one cabin and three RV hook-up sites available due to cancellations, with few primitive sites available.

“This is great news for Junction City and Geary County. The people visiting Milford Lake spend money on gas, food, and other supplies. The spending contributes to the positive economic growth of the area.” stated Connie Hall, Director of the Geary County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Milford Lake has consistently been rated as one of the top outdoor recreational destination in Kansas.
