TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Shawnee County Parks & Recreation will host Bark for Life in conjunction with the annual Dog's Day Out at the Lake Shawnee Swim Beach Sunday.
Bark for Life is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, where dog-lovers and man's best friend can participate in the fight against cancer. This event includes all of dogs' favorite activities and an opportunity for exercise, fun and socialization, all while raising money for a great cause.
Doggie Olympics begin at 10 a.m. at the Swim Beach. Registration is $10. Activities include: Fastest Dog Run, Longest Dog Jump, Fastest Dog Swim, Quickest Ball Retrieval, Trick Show & Obstacle Course.
From 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. there will be a small dog swim. The large dogs swim beginning at 1:30 p.m.
