KABSE Conference Aims To Dispel Myths Surrounding Black Students

The Kansas Alliance of Black School Educators will host its 28th Annual Conference June 7th and 8th at the Ramada Conference Center, 420 S.E. 6th Street, Topeka, Kansas.

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Topeka is playing host to a meeting of the minds this weekend aimed at dispelling misconceptions surrounding African-American students.

The Kansas Alliance of Black School Educators is holding its conference Friday and Saturday, June 7 and 8, at the Ramada Hotel in Downtown Topeka.

The theme for the conference is "Don't Believe the Hype: Dismantlying Myths about African-American Student Achievement."

Preston Williams and Vince Omni visited 13 News at 4 to discuss that theme and the upcoming event.
