MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- The wait was worth it for hundreds of Kansas State University students who were able to secure their spot at the Fiesta Bowl.
Lines started forming hours before the Athletic Ticket Office opened Wednesday morning, wrapping around the concourse at Bramlage Coliseum.
"It’s been a little crazy. It’s been a long line. I waited a long time. I woke up at 5 AM but we’re doing it for the Cats," said K-State senior Patrick Mellard.
One thousand tickets available to K-Staters with student passes quickly sold out. After paying $105 dollars for their tickets, they were off to make travel arrangements.
Thousands of regular tickets to the January 3rd game in Glendale, Arizona have also been purchased online as fans gear up to see the Wildcats face off against Oregon.
"It’s going to be part of history. Whether we win or lose, it’s going to be something that I did in my time so I can tell my kids about it so I think that’s something kind of cool," said K-State student Paul Harris.
"It’s going to be a fun road trip down with some of my best friends and it’ll be a fun game," Mellard added.
K-State has been allotted an additional 1000 student tickets which will go on sale Thursday morning at 8:30 AM at the Athletic Ticket Office.
