Junction City Police Officer Eyes Retirement

JUNCTION CITY, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Junction City Police Department announces the retirement of Lieutenant Jordi D. Hester on December 26, 2011.

Lieutenant Hester departs the department with 25 years of service to the Junction City community. Lieutenant Hester was hired by the Junction City Police Department on September 9, 1987.

He was assigned to the Investigations Division as a Juvenile Detective on February 1, 1994. He was promoted to Sergeant on March 22, 1999, at which time he added the supervision of the D.A.R.E. and School Resource Officers to his duties.

On September 16, 2002, he was promoted to the rank of Patrol Lieutenant. He is currently serving as one of the department's Range masters.

Lieutenant Hester and his wife, Shari, will continue to make their home in Junction City.

The public is invited to celebrate his retirement at a reception Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 4:00 - 5:00 pm at the Junction City Police Department training room.
