MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Flint Hills Discovery Center is marking the official start of fall this weekend by offering a free family day.
On Saturday, September 22, 2012, guests can enjoy free admission all day as they explore all of the permanent displays on the Flint Hills region as well as a new temporary exhibit.
The “Forces” exhibit chronicles the history of Manhattan, Fort Riley and Kansas State University.
“We’ll have a lot of additional activities for you to take part in too. We’ll have quilting demonstrations, some of our volunteers are going to be dressed in period costume. We’ll have lots of indoor and outdoor activities for the entire family,” said Melissa Kirkwood with the Flint Hills Discovery Center.
Family Day will go from 10 AM to 5 PM. Admission is free courtesy of Kansas Farm Bureau.
