MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) _ People gathering for Kansas State's
graduation this weekend will have a choice of some gourmet meals on
The Food Network will be in town to film an episode of ``The
Great Food Truck Race,'' which has food trucks competing in a race
across the country.
Five of the seven original teams will be in Manhattan. The teams
buy local ingredients and prepare their menus, then pay for ads.
The team with the least net profit at the end of the event is out
of the race.
The food trucks arrive in Manhattan Thursday and will remain at
various spots during the weekend.
Lauren Palmer, assistant city manager, told The Manhattan
Mercury that the event is a good way to give the city and its
college-town atmosphere national exposure.
