EMPORIA, Kan. (AP) _ An expert on the effects of globalization and the digital revolution on American education will speak next month at Emporia State University.
The university says that there will be no cost to attend the Feb. 23 lecture featuring Yong Zhao. His appearance at Emporia State is part of the school's Jones Distinguished Lecture Series.
The lecture will touch on what is right with American education and why China and other nations in Asia are actually reforming their systems to be more like their American counterparts.
Zhao was born and raised in China. Starting this month, he is going to work at the University of Oregon as the school's associate dean for Global Education and Online Learning and the director of the Center for Advanced Technology in Education.
