City Hosting 37th Street Project Public Meeting Thursday

TOPEKA, Kan. – The public is invited to an informational open house from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 37th and Wanamaker, regarding the reconstruction of SW 37th Street from Wanamaker Road to Fairlawn Road and north on Fairlawn Road to 33rd Terrace.

This project will be finished in three phases and will be completely closed to through traffic. Access will be provided to local businesses and homes via detours. The concrete will be removed and asphalt will be installed. A waterline will be built during the first phase from Belle Avenue to just east of the 37th and Wanamaker roundabout.

The project will begin March 18th and will last until the end of November.

Work will commence on both ends of the project, then the middle two pieces will be completed. Phasing information will be shared at the meeting.
