TOPEKA, Kan. -- Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel is hosting Holiday Remembrance Ceremonies for families to honor their loved ones this holiday season.
Mount Hope will host two services Tuesday (12/4) at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the renovated Mount Hope funeral chapel on the cemetery grounds, 4700 SW 17th St.
"The holidays can be an especially difficult time for those who have lost someone dear to them," said Ren Newcomer, owner of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Homes, Crematory & Cemeteries. "A ceremony of remembrance helps give family and friends a specific time for quiet reflection and to simply honor their loved one's life."
Penwell-Gabel held a service Sunday, Dec. 2 near the gazebo on the cemetery grounds. Attendees were also able to honor loved ones by placing a personalized ribbon on one of three lighted trees.
The Holiday Remembrance Ceremonies are free and open to the public. The services will include holiday music and a litany of remembrance read by a guest speaker.
Guests attending the Mount Hope services will also see a Memorial Video Tribute of photos submitted by November 28.
