A little piece of Topeka history is shutting down this week.
As we first reported Tuesday.... Hillmer's Luggage, Leather and Gifts began running "going out of business ads" this week...which brought customers running in.
It's Topeka's oldest retail store. Established in 1896. Located on Southeast 6th street... just East of Kansas Avenue.
Walt and Joyce Hillmer ran it for many years...they sold the business 2 years ago to Greg Mathena and his daughter, Johnna.
Saturday will be their last day in business.
