7th graders at Royal Valley Middle school have gotten a feel for the political process this year.
The kids have been working toward re-naming a trail along highway 75 the Lane Freedom Trail...after James Lane.
An effort that is frowned upon by some legislators.....however the kids are not giving up.
What started off as a 7th grade history project has turned into a now 6 month discussion in the legislature. The sign remains a possiblity in the house but in the senate its been gutted into a 10 year transportation plan.
