Construction workers hit the road Monday morning to begin work throughout the city of Topeka.
The project on 29th and Urish resumed Monday morning. Where the road will be widened and a new roundabout will be added.
Over on 29th and Fairlawn workers have geared up for a second time. They've closed the northbound lane of Fairlawn to widened the road.
Also, the East side sidewalk of the intersection is closed with a closure from ramp to ramp underneath the bridge.
In addition to 29th and Urish and 29th and Fairlawn......Croco Road is being widened from Southeast 39th st to 36th.
New roundabouts on 46th st. and Oakley Avenue and 61 st and Wanamaker and the right westbound lane of Sixth in front of the Hummer Sports Park will close for storm sewer work.
For now commuters will deal with closures but teh Kansas Department of Transportation says its for a big pay off in the future.
