Topeka, Kansas (WIBW) - You won't find cigarettes for sale on the University of Kansas and K state campuses much longer.
The Kansas state board of regents met Wednesday to discuss the matter.
They agreed that essentially no regents institution will be selling tobacco products on their campus.
That includes Kansas state and the University of Kansas.
Out of 6 regent universities tobacco sales have only been allowed on K-State and KU campuses.
Both campuses will discontinue tobacco sales as of July 1st. Chancellor Bernadette Gray Little also says selling tobacco products is inconsistent with university values.. .and health research conducted at KU.
The board of regents is looking at it as a health matter. More and more schools are moving in that direction whether they are required to or not.
