After 10 Americans were accused of illegally trying to take children out of earthquake shattered Haiti it is more clear that paperwork is essential.

One family knows the process all too well... its taken the Mcivers family almost 3 years to adopt llittle Jacob.

After Nolan Mcvivers worked as a contractor and missionary with his church in Haiti for the past 9 years the whole family decided to visit Haiti as well.

They decided to adopt in 2007.....they thought they were close to their adoption and then the devastating earthquake hit.

Jacob is now part of a family that includes 3 other brothers and an extended family.

The Mcivers say living in the states means new challenges...but he is already getting use to his new home.
