Learning More About Ones Treasures

Many gathered at Washburn University to identify and to learn how to preserve items of historical and cultural significance.

Antique clocks, quilts, and World War 2 uniforms..all types of treausres were brought in for a look at how to preserve these collectibles and to find out what exactly they mean.

Its the 7th in a series from the Smithsonian National Museum of African American history and cultures...titled "Save Our African American Treasures" a national collections initiative of discovery and preseravation.

Representatives from the Smithsonian National Museum of African American history and culture will be on hand again Sunday from 10am -4pm. You may bring up to 3 items for a 20 minute consultation with a conservator at Washburn University's Memorial Union.
