Texting has gone through a dramatic increase in the last couple of years..including with drivers. The house of transportation committee is sponsoring the measure to ban texting...instant messaging and emailing while driving. A bill that would make texting while driving a moving violation. Violators would receive warnings in the first year of the ban with a $100 fine taking effect in July 2011. (Full Story) |

The American Red Cross and 92 Dillons stores in Kansas...Missouri...and Nebraska have teamed up in support of the earthquake relief efforts for Haiti. The partnership provides an easy way for all to make donations at all Dillons stores. Beginning January 18th through January 30th..customers and employees will have an option to give a cash donation or round up their order to the nearest dollar at the register at the end of their grocery shopping. Across the nation millions of dollars have been raised...a big response from the public and a quick response from the American Red Cross. (Full Story) |
