Another sad and heart-breaking death of a stellar young woman, Seaman High Senior Brenna Morgart, was reported on our newscasts Friday night.

As an anchorman, I cry on the inside when talking about how, whether it's from a planned criminal act, a careless accident or insidious disease, a life of someone we wish could have lived forever is tragically cut short.

I remember a post-graduation tragedy in Missouri, where I worked in May of 1987.  Daphne Creed of Walnut Grove High School was struck and killed by a train as she was heading home from playing in a softball game.

I am also thinking of Kelsey Smith tonight.  Her vicious rape and murder near Martin City, Missouri stunned Kansas City and the nation.  She was abducted from a Target store in Overland Park on June 2, 2007.  Five years ago.  Right after he graduation from Shawnee Mission West.

And again, although I never had the privilege of meeting or talking with her, we have lost an outstanding young woman in Brenna Morgart, killed in a hit and run case, her body moved and dumped in a field before she was found Friday evening.

I am heartbroken all over again.

Since I never had that privilege of getting to see her in action, whether at church or in the classroom, please tell us more about her amazing life.  I want to know more of her kind, generous and far too short life with us.      Ralph
